The natural beauty of DeKalb County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to
be more challenging than the national average, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large
number of paddling rivers. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.

Through the warm months at Blackoak Creek highs are frequently in the 90's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's. All through the winter highs are usually in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Blackoak Creek.
