This stretch of Cahaba River in Alabama is 7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting     or kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Birmingham-Hoover, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the US Route 11 to County Route 10 section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: Cahaba River is a reasonably wet place typically with a great deal of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is March; the driest month of the year is October. Summertime highs at Cahaba River typically tend to be in the 80's, and the overnight is slightly chillier of course, commonly in the 60's.
