  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alabama is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many runs in this state are not easy. The wonderful Crenshaw County scenery and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This section is very short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you're coming from Summerville it's not a long drive at all to the starting
    location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The Lower Canyon Rim Road to Little River Canyon section of Chinquapin Creek in Alabama is 0.75 miles long and is a class V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This
is the only paddling section along Chinquapin Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places.

Briefly about the general area:
All the water falling down from the sky makes Chinquapin Creek a wet place; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most, and October on the other hand is the driest.
During the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 80's at Chinquapin Creek with night lows in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Chinquapin Creek temperatures plunge to the 20's.
