The scenic beauty of unknown County and the water flowing gracefully down Cotaco Creek attract people from near and far. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alabama are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before     you come because it is a very popular destination. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Albertville, as you can see on the road map further down. This is the only paddling stretch along Cotaco Creek. Briefly about the general area: Moon Hollow is a splendid place to look at. Cotaco Creek commonly gets a good deal of precipitation; March is the month that gets the most rain while October is typically the driest month. Through the summertime months highs here at Cotaco Creek get into the 80's. For the period   of the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Cotaco Creek fall into the 20's.
