The wonderful Alabama scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The CR 44 to Lake Guntersville section of Dry Creek in Alabama is 2 miles long and it is classified as a class IV-V section by American Whitewater. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance
because these hotels fill up quick. There are no other stretches to paddle along Dry Creek than the CR 44 to Lake Guntersville stretch. If you're coming from Albertville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, please print out a copy of the road map further down
the page so you won’t get lost. The average Alabama whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over.

with the least amount of precipitation. No need to travel far to go to exciting stuff like Blue Bend, and you could always look at King Gap.
