The put-in location is a short drive from Talladega-Sylacauga, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The natural beauty of Alabama and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. This is a very short stretch so better bring some     good walking shoes. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The campgrounds here at Elkahatchee Creek are pretty good. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The Elkahatchee Road to SR 63 section is the only paddling section along Elkahatchee Creek.
