The put-in is not too far from Scottsboro, as you can see on the road map further down. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Rt. 117 to Lake Guntersville stretch is the only paddling stretch along Flat Rock / Coon Creek.
