The average Alabama whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. During the winter highs are ordinarily in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Graves Creek temperatures sink to the 20's.
