Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Alabama are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling stretch along Guess Creek. No need to look     hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Guess Creek is a wet site that gets a good deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is March; the driest of the months is August. Summertime highs at Guess Creek generally tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's.
