The CR 127 to State Route 176 stretch of Hicks Creek in Dekalb County is 1.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III-IV(V) section. This stretch is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Alabama tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less     manageable. The scenic beauty of Alabama and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places.
