The put-in is not too far from Summerville, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Alabama whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The Highway 35 to Upper Two stretch of Little River is 3.08 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-V section. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. There's
camping available near Little River. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. The Highway 35 to Upper Two section is one of many paddling sections
in this river system. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. The beautiful scenery of Dekalb/ Cherokee County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
Briefly about the general area: Needle Rock is an interesting thing to observe since you're here at Little River; Little River Falls is a great local attraction. All the water falling down from the sky makes Little River a wet place; March is the wettest month with most rain; October is when it's the driest.
Throughout the warm days of summer at Little River highs are regularly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Little River temperatures descend to the 20's.
