Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alabama is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The Highway 35 to Upper Two stretch of Little River in Dekalb/ Cherokee County is 3.08 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-V section of whitewater. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. If you're coming from Summerville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further
down the page. This section is quite short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is
a very popular destination. The Highway 35 to Upper Two section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. The natural beauty of Dekalb/ Cherokee County and the cool fresh water beats anything.

here at Little River, high temperatures generally reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 60's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Little River dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. Little River
is a pretty wet place commonly with a great deal of rain; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain while October is regularly the driest month.
