  The starting location is a short drive from Summerville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alabama is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The Eberharts Point to Canyon Mouth Campground section of Little River is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV section. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.
    This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There's camping available near Little River. Since you're on this site
you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. The wonderful Dekalb/ Cherokee County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.

Briefly about the general area:
Summertime highs at Little River typically tend to be in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime
 
come with highs in the 40's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Little River temperatures dip to the 20's. Little River is a quite wet place mostly with a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month of the year is October.
