The run from Lahusage Dam to G.E.Hill bridge on hy. 35 takes about 8 hours. The best time to run is in late April early May when the flowers are in full bloom. Six inches of water must be flowing over the dam to make a good run. Says Robert Maples

If you're coming from Summerville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Lahusage to Route 35 section is just one of many. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing
to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
