CLASS III     0.5 miles
The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Cullman, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Mill Creek in Blount County is 0.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve
in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks. There's camping available near Mill Creek. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Rt. 31 to Dirt Road off CR 5 section is one of them. Whether you're
whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The beautiful scenery of Blount County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.

A short trip

to Cold Spring is always worthwhile; a journey to Mill Creek wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Sulphur Spring. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mill Creek a wet place; March is the month that gets the most rain, and October is when it's the driest.
