This stretch of Mill Creek in Alabama is 4.7 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Alabama and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're     whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Holmes Drake Road to US Route 31 section is one of them. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.
