This stretch of Short Creek in Alabama is 4.4 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Albertville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. There are     some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
