Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This stretch of Short Creek in Alabama is 4.4 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're coming from Albertville it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. There are
    some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The
Route 75 to Hustleville Road stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The nature scenery of Alabama and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here.

Short Creek Falls is an inspiring spot to visit while here, and you simply should have a look at Blue Bend if you're here at Short Creek. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Short Creek.
