  The beautiful scenery of Dekalb County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you're coming from Albertville it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section of Town Creek is 3.9 miles long and is a class II(III) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to
    put-in a few times. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the State Route 227 to High Falls section is one of them. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. The nearby hotels are a bit
away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places.

Briefly about the general area:
High Falls is always fun to check out. Through the months of summer here at Town Creek, high temperatures usually reach the 90's.
 
Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; nighttime lows through the winter for Town Creek tend to be in the 20's.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Town Creek a wet place; March is when you get the most rain here; October on the other hand is the driest.
