  Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. The wonderful Dekalb County scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. The starting location is a short drive from Albertville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further
    down the page. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because
it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the High Falls to Lake Guntersville section is one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
Redbud Point is close at hand and always wonderful to pop by, and close by you stumble on Wheeler Hollow which is a tremendous location to stop at. Town Creek generally gets lots of precipitation; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is October.
The
 
warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Town Creek. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 60's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 40's, and night lows in the 20's for Town Creek.
