  The High Falls to Lake Guntersville stretch of Town Creek in Alabama is 5.8 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III(V) section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Dekalb County and the water flowing gracefully down Town Creek make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations
    in advance you're all set. The starting location is a short drive from Albertville, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around
here. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. The High Falls to Lake Guntersville stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

Summer at Town Creek comes with high temperatures in the 90's. Through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with
 
lows in the 20's to Town Creek.
Town Creek sees pretty high levels of rain; the month with most of the rain is March, and the driest month is October. Redbud Point is reasonably right next door to Town Creek, and Wheeler Hollow is in the vicinity, and is a perfect location.
