The Walls of Jericho Gorge stretch of Turkey Creek in Jackson County is 2 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Jackson County and the water flowing gracefully down Turkey Creek attract people from near and far. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alabama are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. This stretch is short so no need to bring snacks. The put-in is not too far from Scottsboro, as you can see on the road map further down.

and you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Scottsboro here. This river is a great place to visit. You need to pop by Walls of Jericho since you're here at Turkey Creek. Turkey Creek is a relatively wet place mostly
with a large amount of rain. Of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and August on the other hand is the driest.
