  The nature scenery of Alabama and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Whippoorwill Creek in Marshall County is 0.43 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Albertville, as you can see on the road map further down. The CR 532 to Double Bridges section is the only paddling section along Whippoorwill Creek. This is an extremely short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting your
    paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The campgrounds here at Whippoorwill Creek are pretty good. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number
of paddling rivers. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alabama are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
