The wonderful Cherokee County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the CR49 to CR47 stretch is one of them. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alabama is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that the     rivers in this state are less manageable. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. The starting point is not too far from Gadsden, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost.
