If you're coming from Gadsden it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alabama is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good rivers for that around here. This stretch is short so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more.
