  The First Falls to Lake stretch of Yellow Creek in unknown County is 1 miles long and is a class IV-V+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Gadsden, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of unknown County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks. If
    you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Alabama you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. This
is the only paddling section along Yellow Creek. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people.

Briefly about the general area:
All the water falling down from the sky makes Yellow Creek a wet site; all through March this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is October. A spree to nearby Anderson Cove is very relaxing.
For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs usually
 
are in the 80's at Yellow Creek, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter highs are in the 40's, and night lows through the winter for Yellow Creek tend to be in the 20's.
