  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alaska is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This stretch of Alsek River in Yukon Territory Borough is 185 miles long and has been rated as a class III+(V+) section by American Whitewater. There's camping available near Alsek River. This is the only paddling stretch along Alsek River. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors
    are sure to keep you coming back for more. The natural beauty of Alaska and the water flowing gracefully down Alsek River attract people from near and far. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if
you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

Briefly about the general area:
The high level of rainfall makes Alsek River a relatively wet location. October is the month that gets the most rain while June is commonly the driest month. The warmest time of the year at Alsek River comes with high temperatures in the 50's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Alsek River.
