There are no other sections to paddle along Bird Creek than the 5 miles upstream to Turnagain Arm section. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. This is a pretty
short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. The wonderful unknown Borough scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water attract people from near and far. The beauty of the Chugach Mountains is a great plus for this river. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling places.
