This stretch of Browns Creek in Near Valdez Borough is 1.5 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The river winds through the Chugach Mountains and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. The     campgrounds here at Browns Creek are pretty good. This is the only paddling stretch along Browns Creek. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving.
