Alaska whitewater - Campbell Creek, Anchorage Borough
Anchorage
county,
Powerline pass to Hilltop Ski area section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS V 2.5 miles
The natural beauty of Anchorage Borough and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring
some good walking shoes. This is the only paddling section along Campbell Creek. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling
spots. The Powerline pass to Hilltop Ski area stretch of Campbell Creek is 2.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class V section of whitewater.
