If you're coming from Anchorage it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Alaska and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This is a somewhat short section so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are nice comfortable hotels here,
but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. The Powerline pass to Hilltop Ski area section of Campbell Creek in Alaska is 2.5 miles long
