CLASS IV 6.5 miles
The scenic beauty of Alaska and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The Seward HigHighway at outlet of Lower Summit Lake to Seward Highway at Hope Junction section of Canyon Creek is 6.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class IV section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alaska are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving.
