The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The wonderful Alaska scenery and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. The beauty of the Aleutian Range is a great plus for this river. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Chakachatna River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Chakachamna Lake to Cook Inlet stretch is the only one.
