The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might
    end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. The campgrounds here at
Chakachatna River are pretty good. Chakachatna River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Chakachamna Lake to Cook Inlet section is the only one. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling spots. When you're paddling down a Aleutian Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
