The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alaska are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This stretch of Chitina River in Alaska is 55 miles long and it is classified as a class II section by American Whitewater. The nature scenery of Alaska and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Whitewater paddling here in the Wrangell Mountains is a great experience. The nearby hotels are a bit away
from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, so it looks like you will be camping out. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions
