This stretch of Chulitna River is 77 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Alaska you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because     these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful Alaska Range scenery is an added bonus. The East Fork to Talkeetna stretch is the only paddling stretch along Chulitna River. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other places for that.
