  This stretch of Copper River is 77 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The nature scenery of Alaska and the cool fresh water have people coming
    here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others
too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here.

Briefly about the general area:
Summertime highs at Copper River generally tend to be in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 0's, and nighttime lows at Copper River during the winter frequently drop into the-20's.
Copper River gets very little rain; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is April.
