The wonderful Alaska scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. This section of Delta River is 14 miles long and it is classified as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alaska are often more challenging than in other states,
so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here. Whitewater paddling

Briefly about the general area: During the warm days of summer at Delta River highs are generally in the 60's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 0's; winter nights come with lows in the-20's to Delta River.
