This stretch of Delta River in Alaska is 14 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Alaska and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're
willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. The Alaska Range scenery is wonderful.
The Suzy Q Creek to Donnelly Creek Campground stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Delta River are pretty good.
