The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. This section of Drop Creek is 19 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. There's camping available near Drop Creek. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. The natural beauty of Alaska
and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are no other stretches to paddle along Drop Creek than the Upper gravel bar to Copper River stretch. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if
you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. The river winds through the Alaska Range and you get great scenery.
