Echo Bend to Rapids Camp section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS IV 3 miles
The nature scenery of Alaska and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. The Echo Bend to Rapids Camp section of Eagle River in Alaska is 3 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you
can camp. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. The beautiful Chugach Mountains scenery is an added bonus. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
destination. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good places.
