This section of Firth River is 99 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alaska is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The nature scenery of North Slope Borough and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The beauty of the Brooks Range is a great plus for this
river. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Now this is a pretty long section, so make sure you pack enough food along with your camping gear. Getting your paddling muscles
activated and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. This is the only paddling stretch along Firth River.
