  The wonderful Alaska scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Fortymile River - Middle Fork and North Fork in Southeast Fairbanks Census Area Borough is 46 miles long and has been rated as a class II(III) section by American Whitewater. The Joseph Airstrip to Taylor Highway Fortymile Bridge stretch is the only paddling stretch along Fortymile River - Middle Fork and North Fork. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will
    make you glad you came. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you
can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
