The Basin Road Bridge into Cope Park section of Gold Creek in City & Borough of Juneau Borough is 2 miles long and it is classified as a class III-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. The Basin Road Bridge into Cope Park section is the only paddling section along Gold Creek. This is
a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. The beautiful scenery of City & Borough of Juneau Borough and the cool fresh water beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind
that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater paddling here in the Chugach Mountains is a great experience.

is the month with the least amount of precipitation. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Chugach Mountains, too great to be true. If the weather is tremendous here at Gold Creek, you can go for a hike along the Moller Ski Trail, and you could always discover Gold Creek
Valley. This river is a great place to visit. If you want to hit the beach, Ready Bullion Beach is in close proximity, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Mount Roberts Trail. You'll meet a lot of folks from Juneau here, and a short spree to Ebner Falls is always
worthwhile. Summer brings highs in the 60's to Gold Creek. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Gold Creek.
