The Paxson Lake to Sourdough Campground stretch of Gulkana River in Valdez-Cordova Census Area Borough is 81 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good places for that around here. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp.
