  The scenic beauty of Alaska and the cool fresh water beats anything. The Upper river to Nabesna River section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. This stretch of Jacksina River is 29 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV section of whitewater. There are campgrounds
    quite near the river where you can camp. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time,
so why not pack your sleeping bag too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beautiful Wrangell Mountains scenery is an added bonus.
