This stretch of Kenai River in Alaska is 18 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There are no     other sections to paddle along Kenai River than the Kenai Lake to Skilak Lake section. Briefly about the general area: Summertime at Kenai River comes with high temperatures in the 60's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows through the winter for Kenai River tend to be in the 0's. Kenai River is a location that is pretty waterless regularly; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. There are good spots to look at along the Schooner Bend Trail, and you must without doubt pop by Schooner Bend while here.
