  The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Alaska are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. This section of Kiagna River in Alaska is 19 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Since
    you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. The Gravel bar to Chitina River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches
in this river system. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. The campgrounds here at Kiagna River are pretty good. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camp stove. The scenic beauty of Valdez-Cordova Census Area Borough and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle.
