  The Upper Kotsina to Copper River stretch of Kotsina River is 42 miles long and it is classified as a class V+ section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The river winds through the Wrangell Mountains and you get great scenery. There are no other stretches to paddle along Kotsina River than the Upper Kotsina to Copper River
    stretch. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The wonderful Valdez-Cordova Census Area Borough scenery
and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
