Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. This stretch of Kotsina River in Alaska is 42 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V+ section. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. A stretch this long is of course
    too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Kotsina River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Upper Kotsina to Copper River section is the only one.
The river winds through the Wrangell Mountains and you get great scenery. There's camping available near Kotsina River. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.
