  The wonderful Alaska scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you're coming from Juneau it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or
    both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There are no other stretches to paddle along Lemon Creek than the Upper Quarry to Costco stretch. The
Upper Quarry to Costco stretch of Lemon Creek in Juneau Borough is 2 miles long and is a class III-IV+ section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. When you're paddling down a Chugach Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. There's camping available near Lemon Creek.

Summertime at Lemon Creek comes with high temperatures in the 60's. For the period of the dark hours of summer
 
temperatures descend down into the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are typically in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lemon Creek are in the 20's. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Chugach Mountains. There's perfect hiking along the Lemon Creek Trail.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Lemon Creek a wet spot; October is the wettest month with most rain; April meanwhile is the driest month. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lemon Creek; Nugget Creek Trail is a magnificent local trail, and why not head up to Eaglecrest and strap some skis to your feet.
