The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Little Susitna River gets very little rainfall; September is when you get the most rain here, and April meanwhile is the driest month. Highs during the wintertime are typically in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Little Susitna River temperatures plunge to the 0's.
