The nature scenery of Valdez-Cordova Census Area Borough and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This stretch of Lowe River in Alaska is 5 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip.
Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. The Keystone Canyon section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near.
Briefly about the general area: The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Bridal Veil Falls, and Snowslide Gulch is also a fine spot to explore. Lowe River is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; through September this area sees the most rain; June
meanwhile is the driest month. All year is a fine time in the Chugach Mountains if you love the outdoors. A spree to Lowe River wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Rudleston Falls. All through the summer months at Lowe River temperatures are generally in the 60's
while nighttime lows are regularly in the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 20's; night lows at Lowe River all through the wintertime generally dip into the 10's.
