The scenic beauty of Alaska and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good places. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Keystone Canyon stretch is one of them. There are campgrounds quite near
the river where you can camp. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. The Keystone Canyon stretch of Lowe River is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III section. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out
with mother nature have people coming from far and near. The Chugach Mountains scenery is wonderful. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.
Briefly about the general area: Snowslide Gulch is near Lowe River and is a tremendous place It's always good to have a look at Bridal Veil Falls. Through the months of summer, highs commonly are in the 60's at Lowe River. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and overnight lows in
the 10's for Lowe River. All year is a good time in the Chugach Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Don't leave Lowe River without first paying a visit to Rudleston Falls. Lowe River gets a lot of water; September is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is June.
