Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: A spree to Goat Gully is always fun. For the period of the warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 60's at Lowe River. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's; during   the dark hours in the wintertime at Lowe River temperatures fall to the 10's. Lowe River gets a large amount of water; throughout the month of September you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is June.
