The average Alaska whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so better not forget that many runs in this state are not easy. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. The Buffalo Mine Road to Glenn Highway stretch is the only paddling stretch along Moose Creek. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. This section of Moose Creek in Alaska is 6 miles long
and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class III+ section. When you're paddling down a Talkeetna Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that
around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The wonderful Alaska scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: During the summertime months here at Moose Creek, high temperatures usually reach the 60's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and
through the dark hours in the wintertime at Moose Creek temperatures plunge to the 0's. Tsadaka Canyon is a glorious spot to discover. Moose Creek gets very little rainfall; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month of the year is March.
