The beautiful scenery of Lake and Peninsula Borough and the water flowing gracefully down Newhalen River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Alaska is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving.
