CLASS II+     35 miles
  This stretch of Nizina River is 35 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II+ section. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Nizina Glacier to Kennicott River section is one of them. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in
    nature will make you glad you came. The beauty of the Wrangell Mountains is a great plus for this river. There's camping available near Nizina River. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this
area has a large number of paddling spots. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The beautiful scenery of Alaska and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving.

Nizina River is pretty dry regularly. July is the month that gets the most rain, and March is the month with the least moisture. For the period of the summer months, highs ordinarily are in the 70's
  at Nizina River. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the-10's while the cold winter nights at Nizina River are in the-30's.
