This stretch of Nizina River in Alaska is 10 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The nature scenery of Wrangell-St. Elias Natl. The Kennicott River to Chitna River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. The river winds through the Wrangell Mountains and you get great scenery. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.
